Personality Development
In context to school students. Personality, the word itself states that it is all about a person. One's outlook, behaviour, attitude and psychological power all are part of the personality of a person. More often people take it as the outer look but actually it is quite different from that. A person can be good looking and smart from outside but he may be negative and not so smart actually and vice versa. In real sense Personality is sum of many human traits which is more important than the outer look. Now the question is, Can we improve one's personality? Answer is Yes. But how? Specially when we are talking about the school students. At that time they are always confused with what they are? And what they should be? Here the teacher plays the important role. Teachers have always been the role models of their students and will be forever. So teachers can develop their student's personality in every possible way . Nodoubt students acceptance and parents support is equally required. Lets discuss how can a teacher do wonders in students personal ity. 1) First step is asking the students to dress up nicely in neat and clean manner. We feel good when we dress up nicely. Those who are not in the habit of coming to school in proper and tidy uniform can be asked for their best look in uniform. Everyone wants to be style icon regardless the age and level. We can use their desire. Ask the students to come in proper uniform and keep it clean til offtime. Obeying students can be rewarded by giving them BEST DRESSED STUDENT badge. It will encourage everyone to be like that only. We can have the PHOTO option also as a reward. Praising students on daily basis can help a lot specially the defaulters. 2) Students can be motivated to be happy in every situation. It is difficult but can be done by giving them moral classes about importance of happiness and positive attitude. Here I would say that importance of life will be a better idea. Once they start giving value to their life, they will be more passionate to live it happily. It will increase their confidence also. Everyone wants to be happy and successful. These are some precious things desired by everyone but we need to make our students realize that to get something special, they have to do something special . 3) Students come to study in school. They have to face many competitors to prove them best of all. Everyone is holding their own personal abilities and skills. Non active students can find it very difficult to face these type of challenges. Again I would say the moral session of those students is required here that everyone is different from another. We can make them bound to trust us by recognizing their abilities and praising them for that. They would start believing in us as well as in their own abilities. They would initiate for their own interest and strong field area. We can help them to excel in those things. 4) Now comes the turn of academic part. After the counseling for outer look and mindset for themselves or others comes the actual workfield. If they are following you on previous points then your half is done. Rest half can be get done by telling them the importance of time. At this age students waste their most of the time spending in non useful activities. They would never be able to manage their time in good things and specially the problematic students. They should be given a good amount of work to do so that their energy can be diverted in productive things. Appreciate their efforts and reward them with permission to get their favourite things done. Watch is must. Recognition is the key factor which drives every human being for their best. Psychologists also say that a social human behaves better than the isolated one . So the students who tend to be quite and at the last benches always, can do wonders if given positive recognition. it is more about the psychology than any other thing. In short I would say thsat we need to use positive psychological methods to improve their personality. In this way we can improve the personality of the below average students and give them opportunity to grow well. For all these achievements parents support is must. The educational institutes should also give quality time to teachers to deal with these type of students. They should not be overburdened with many things at same time. After all teachers are there for six hours only and they have to do number of things with the number of students in a fixed time period. Only a happy and positive personality can build the same in others.
